Seasons

Seasons

I took a quantum leap
Through seasons
And winter was the first
To rear its
Ugly
Head

Like fallen leaves
On broken trees looking
Naked and alone
Here
I
Too
Stood

Disengaged from my surroundings
I began questioning why
These dark clouds kept
Following and
Interfering
With
My feelings causing
My moods to become
Melancholic and
Such an unpalatable
Tonic
To
Swallow

SEASONS

What seemed a life time
Turned out to be just hours
Realising that
I can change
I’ve been given
The
Power to

My dark days can no
Longer
Define who
I am
Before I could see
A thing
I was quickly propelled
Into
Spring!

SEASONS

Expectancy
Renewal
Became my close
Companions
I was running
A race
But the prize was
No Golden
Medallion

Just the knowledge
That I have entered
The race of life
And my intention is to
Cross over the
Finishing line
This time
I believed
I
Could

Like the blossoming
Stages of an
Intricately
Delicate
Flower
I
Was overwhelmed by
The beauty of
This truth
And was gently ushered
Into
Summer

SEASONS

Invigorated
Transformed
Energised
Tears of Joy
Filled my eyes
And the inner warmth
That said it all
That I am
Happy to be
Me

I can stand proud
And tall
Nothing about me
Is a
Mistake

As the warmth of the
Morning sun
I embraced
This truth that I now
Understand
How seasons go
And seasons come
Each with its own
Purpose and plan
Of instilling an attitude
That says that
“I CAN”

Walking in this
Revelation
I take one
More leap
And am welcomed
By
Autumn!

Favourite Things

Sunday school trips, all the kids are excited,
Sista Brown’s up to ole tricks,
Preparing good food,
And all are delighted.
Jokes on the Journey,
Over Sista Sharon’s new weave,
Just to mention a few of my favourite things.

Life can be tough
We all have our struggles
Some relationships are strained
And are experiencing financial troubles
But we’re more concerned about
What people say
Than how we really feel
These aren’t my favourite things.

Chorus
When your heart aches
You don’t feel brave
To handle the cares
Life throws at you
Remember he gave you a word that is true
And if you believe
You’ll make it, you’ll make it thru

Hearing his voice, whether in sound
Or written,
There’s no other choice,
But to follow his prompting,
The styles I like
Are Christ like
No one can imitate Him
In Him are all of my
Favourite things.

Knowing He loves me
And on Him I can depend
Living in his peace
Assured He’s no fair weather friend
Showering Him with praise and adoration
Fills my heart within
Because He has all of my favourite things

When your heart aches
You don’t feel brave
To handle the cares
Life throws at you
Remember he gave you a word that is true
And if you believe
You’ll make it
You’ll make it
You’ll make it thru
