Truth arrives and takes her place
Gracefully she begins to articulate
What He instructed her to say.
“Your liberty cannot be found in the things you see,
You can only acquire it, by trusting in me.
You will not find it in material gains, desire for wealth,
or in the mouth of mens praise.
The struggles you face are all part of my plan,
to cause you to mature,
From a boy to a man, from a girl into a woman.
So hold on tight to the values I instilled in you
And don’t jump for the quick fixes that life
throws at you.
In the midst of your soul’s anguish, open your mouth and
speak, against your feelings by saying,
There is nothing I cannot defeat.”
She pauses for a while,
Smiles,
Then stands and slowly walks away.
I can faintly hear her whisper in the distance,
“These are His words, don’t let them slip away”
